Things still tend to feel a little bland during February but it won't be long until that first real noticeable ray of sun on our faces (you know the one!) and I always think it's the perfect time to reset and reflect so we can start to get ahead of ourselves a bit, ready for when the world springs back to life.
Moving The Fig Store to Uppingham at the end of last year brought huge change for us after having spent so long in the Cotswolds but it couldn't have got off to a better start and we have some really exciting new products and ideas in the pipeline for 2023 that we are so excited to share with you all from our lovely, new home in Rutland as well as through our website.
The first of these will be our new range of eco-friendly products for both home and body as well as refillable bottles which are due to launch in store this spring. It's a project we've been working on for a while now and we can't wait for you to try out these gorgeous new additions as we all try to do our bit for the planet. Keep an eye out in store and on our social media channels for more info and launch dates in the near future.
Spring is round the corner.

And what a year 2022 has been!
We launched our new website in the summer, said goodbye to our shop in Tetbury to be closer to home and just before Christmas we opened our new store in the gorgeous town of Uppingham. A whirlwind few months to say the least!
We have already been made to feel so welcome in our new home and couldn’t be more grateful for the support we’ve received from our new neighbours and customers.
We look forward to welcoming you all to our new home and can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store.

]]> https://www.thefigstore.com:443/738/New-Store Autumn thefigstore_195485 Fri, 28 Oct 2022 00:00:00 +0100 As we bid a fond farewell to the summer months and the brighter colours they bring, it's time to begin preparing our homes and gardens for Autumn and the excitement of the festive season that lies ahead.

The nights seem to be drawing in faster than ever and with a definite nip in the air and the imminent changing of the clocks, it is only natural that we start to retreat indoors in anticipation of warming soups, hot chocolates and cosy afternoons spent reading by crackling log fires. 

But blink and this fabulous season can pass us by too easily. Autumn still offers so much for us to enjoy, from woodland walks among leaves the colours of the sunset, to outdoor markets filled with all the smells and sounds of the holidays. It definitely feels like the season for truly appreciating all the fantastic people and places that surround us.

Autumn at The Fig Store means a time to transition to more muted tones and bring in some amazing, natural pieces of homeware as well as some beautiful Christmas decorations which are starting to make their way on to our website in the coming weeks.

So as we head towards candlelit evenings and winter wardrobes let's pause to raise a glass (of mulled wine) to Autumn in all its fleeting glory!

]]> https://www.thefigstore.com:443/732/Autumn Summertime thefigstore_194726 Wed, 17 Aug 2022 14:01:00 +0100 Late summer is well and truly upon us so before the colours begin to turn and the nights start to draw in we are trying to make the most of the current warm evenings and bright days that remain.

When it comes to dining outdoors, stoneware against natural fabrics will always be a firm favourite but for the remainder of August and into September I like to dress the table to tie in with the season by adding any late summer flowers or small branches from the garden. These work just as well when brought indoors of course, but as long as the weather still gives us the opportunity to enjoy the garden we will definitely be making the most of it!

Fingers crossed that this much-needed downpour we've just been gifted will freshen everything up and give all of our outdoor spaces a second burst of summer life in these remaining weeks of the growing season.

Chutney making will soon be on the agenda so keep a look out for some of our favourite recipes in the coming weeks.

It has been a lot of hard work and a very steep learning curve to say the least but we couldn't be happier with the way it has turned out and the alternative angle it offers us as a small business.

We are now able to showcase all the homewares, soft furnishings and statement pieces that we love to people who don't always get the chance to visit us in person. It also gives us the opportunity to be a bit more creative and offer some inspiration for interior looks and ideas which is always at the heart of what we are trying to do.

We can't wait for you to see everything that we have coming up as we start to look towards the Autumn months so keep your eyes peeled for some gorgeous new pieces appearing on the site and don't forget to follow our Instagram page for regular updates @thefigstore
